There are three Occupational Health Trainee positions available. These positions are with the OSHA On-Site Consultation team.  The successful candidate will be at this level for 1 year and then advance to the OCC Health Consultant 4 title in the range $58,222-$84,763; promotions are generally available as the candidates build experience and length of service to the OCC Health Consultant 3, 2, and finally 1 title which currently tops out at $128,719.  There are annual step increases and annual cost-of-living increases, and we presently allow up to 2 telework days.

Somerset County – Somerville, NJ

The Occupational Safety & Health Officer develops, coordinates, and implements occupational safety and health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.  Collaborates with Division Heads, Department Heads and Constitutional Officers to assess occupational safety and health training needs and implement effective employee safety and health training programs.  Partners with all Division and Department Heads and/or external resources to develop and implement effective controls to reduce the risk of occupational safety and health concern and ensure a safe working environment for all County employees. Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards, developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections, training employees on safety protocols, investigating accidents, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations, all with the goal of preventing workplace injuries and illnesses.
